How do I get started?

The first step is to call or email us, and make a consultation appointment. We will collect some basic information about your project, such as room type, design concept, and timeline. Then we'll schedule a meeting with you, at the location where the work will be done.

At our first meeting, we'll discuss your project, and look at colors and styles. We may bring sample boards or a portfolio for design ideas, but each of Georgia's designs will be unique and individual in some way.
Can I see samples of your work, and interview your company?

Yes. Simply call and schedule a meeting with us. We'll show you a portfolio of our work, and then you can then decide whether to move forward to the next step - which typically would be a quote. Depending on the need we may visit a previous project similar to the size and scope for which you are looking. There is no fee for these initial meetings; we only ask that you are serious with these inquiries.
What is your specialty?

We focus on leading-edge wall designs - primarily with the use of Italian/Venetian plasters and other specialty plasters. We also focus on high-end cabinet finishes for kitchens, family rooms, fireplace mantels, wood graining, moldings, etc.
Do I need to be working with a designer?

It isn't necessary that a designer is working with you on your project; Georgia is the expert in wall design, texture and color.
What happens after our initial meeting?

If you're ready to proceed to the next step, we'll provide you with an estimate for the cost of your project. This estimate is primarily based on the square footage and condition of the surfaces to be finished, so we'll need to view the surfaces and measure the area(s). Each technique often involves different products and labor costs, so a price will be quoted once you have made decisions on the area, color and finish.

If you're asking for something very unusual we may offer you a "Time & Materials" contract.
After receiving a quote, am I obligated to proceed with you?

No. Once you receive the quote you can move forward, ask for clarification, get a revision, or do nothing.

What should I do before you start my project?

If possible, please remove any breakable objects and art work, and store them in a safe location. Have your furniture placed in the center of the room, and remove wall hangings from the walls.

In some cases it will be necessary to have an area prepared, prior to beginning the project. Any preparation requirements will be discussed and outlined beforehand.
Can I use the room while the project is in progress?

Maybe, it depends on the extent of the work. For some of our very large projects we have asked families to move-out for several weeks. However, we will clean up at the end of each day, and store our supplies in a designated space, for as little disruption as possible.
How long does a project usually take?

Every project and every space is different. The scope and difficulty will determine the exact length of the job.
How do you decide which materials to use?

The plasters we choose come from different vendors, and many parts of the world. Not being obligated to a single vendor allows us to use the appropriate, highest-quality materials for each project.

Some of our clients are seeking a desired result, so that often dictates the products we choose. However, many of our clients have an idea of what they want, but they aren't sure of how to get there. We'll develop a sample board for your approval, taking into consideration fabrics, flooring, colors, textures, and room size. Most importantly, we listen to what our clients are looking for.
How far will SFW Plasters travel?

There really aren't many boundaries to SFW Plasters' work range. Our primary service areas are Orange, Los Angeles and San Diego counties, however we would consider traveling anywhere in the USA given the right circumstances. Travel expenses would be included in your quote.
Does Georgia work alone?

Georgia has a talented team of artisans and applicators who provide additional skills and expertise (when necessary) to complete/complement her conceptual design. She personally instructs our team on the new finishes/designs and supervises these new implementations. For the very artistic designs Georgia will be more involved and possibly work with only her and an assistant.
